The Swing Studio Custom Fitting
David came to see me a few weeks ago with regards to a new set of irons, his previous set had been in the bag for about 15 years and he thought it was time for a change.
Using the Mizuno DNA system we established 3 ideal heads & shafts for David, then using the Flightscope we got some numbers for David's current set. After testing the latest models from Titleist, Taylor Made & Mizuno the Titleist AP1's were the best performers with an average gain of 10 yards with the 7 iron. We also changed from steel to graphite shafts to help increase the club head speed, this also helped increase the spin rate to a better average.
If you would like to compare your current equipment with all the latest technology click here to arrange an appointment.
Happy golfing, Greg.
Here is a message from one of our green keepers Sam Sweetzer:
"I have been an Events First Aider with the British Red Cross for the past eight months. The training is great and it means I am confident in performing First Aid where necessary, which could come in handy within my industry. Many people get qualified and never use it so it's a great way to actually use it regularly. I wanted to do some fundraising while having a challenging experience at the same time, so I am undertaking a charity Trek in the Alps In June 2016.
The charity trek covers 65 km through the Mont Blanc region of the Alps. I will trek through three countries, Switzerland, France and Italy within the three days. I'm also doing a couple of small events locally to help raise money including a charity quiz night, a car wash and a golf day.
It's a great organisation to be a part of and if anyone has any questions on the trek or on The British Red Cross, just send me a message on Facebook or Twitter. My donations page has information on how small donations can make a big difference.

Please feel free to support Sam in his charity fund raising.
On Friday I played with new members Chris Robbins, John Gilkes who joined 16 months ago and Howard Ashton who has been a member for 34 years. We tossed up the balls and it was a bit of an unfair advantage when it fell that Howard and I had 65 years of West Hill experience versus our opponents 1!
Here are a few words from Chris Robbins:
"I have been playing golf on and off for nearly 50 years having started out at Southampton Municipal course in the 1960's although my handicap of 15 clearly does not reflect the years of experience. During my career in the pharmaceutical industry I spent 25 years living overseas and was fortunate enough to play many great courses during that time. Since retirement my wife Silvia and I have continued to travel and it is rare that we get on a plane without our golf clubs. We were members at Wentworth for 14 years before joining West Hill in January. We have both been warmly welcomed into the Club and are looking forward to enjoying our membership in the future."
I would like the opportunity to play with new members and/or any members with whom I have not previously played in friendly fourballs . Click here if you would like to join me on Friday 4 March 13.00, Friday 18 March 13.00 or Saturday 26 March 13.30.
Good luck to the 30 members playing in The Surrey PGA Annual Awards Dinner Pro/Am at Hankley Common and Hindhead Golf Clubs on Tuesday . It promises to be a great day with the dinner at The Brooklands Museum in the evening.

The Mail on Sunday National Golf Club Classic
Both West Hill teams were in action last week in the first round of The Mail on Sunday national golf competition. The ladies, captained by Julie Wilding, had a home draw against Merrist Wood Golf Club which they won 5-0. They now have a second round home draw against Sunbury Golf Club. The men, captained by Rowan Gillespie, also had a home draw against Chobham Golf Club which they won 3-2. They now have a second round home draw against Merrist Wood Golf Club. Good luck to both teams.
