Or will short game specialists Jordan Spieth and Zach Johnson dominate with the wedge and putter? But then the South Africans, Charl Schwartzel and Loius Oosthuizen, are swinging beautifully too!

Gary Pirson came for a session to eliminate a pushed shot out to the right. Look how in the left picture his right foot has stayed on the ground and his knees are buckling towards the target. In the right picture his left hip is turning more through impact and pulling his right foot off the ground allowing for better weight transfer and rotation. The resulting ball flight was instantly straighter with a better strike.

Father and Son Tournament
Well done to Patrick and Jamie Potter who won, and went through to round 5 of the Father and Son tournament last week, eventually losing on the last in the quarter finals. The eventual winners were the Penfolds who beat Rob Guilfoyle's brother and his son in the final.
Brand New Motocaddy Trolleys
Last week we took delivery of a brand new fleet of Motocaddy Lithium Electric Trolleys. These are available for rental to visitors at £10 a round but for a trial period of April they are now available for members to rent at £8 a round.

Brian Terry's Report: Captain's Mixed Roll-up
The Captain's Mixed Roll-up was held on Wednesday, 23rd March when he invited the ladies to join the regular men's Roll-up. This has now become an annual event and this month's competition attracted the largest field so far when 48 competitors signed up. Although we did not enjoy the glorious sunshine of the previous day playing conditions were favourable which resulted in some excellent scores being recorded.
Topping the list in the ladies' competition was Jan Gilkes, seen receiving her prize money from the Captain, who achieved a stableford score of 37 points off her handicap of 6.
New member Helen Simmons established her credentials as a keen competitor with 36 points and Cilla Shaw, last year's Ladies' Captain, was third with 35 points. John Todd was presented with the Alan Gorvin Trophy from the Ladies' Captain for returning 38 points, Ian Edwards was second with 36 points and Gwyn Davies was third with 33 points after a countback over the last six.
It was pleasing that Sue Gorvin competed in this competition which was started many years ago by her husband, Alan, who had invited several of his friends to a Wednesday Roll-up during his year as Captain when there was an extended period of wet weather resulting in the kitchen staff going stir crazy as so many events were rained off. The 'bangers and mash' served after that inaugural event were a far cry from the haute cuisine Brenden and his team provided to-day. All the winners were generous in donating their cash prizes exceeding £80 to the Captains' Charity.
Another very welcome attendee at the lunch was the Club's President who was determined to join us despite and full diary on the day and just before he is due to fly to Augusta to provide expert television commentary on the Masters.
The April Roll-up will revert to the usual men's competition and will be held on Wednesday, 27th April when the Captain will be delighted to welcome as many of our regulars as can attend as well as any other members who have not yet sampled the pleasure of participating in this highly enjoyable event. Entries may be made via the website or by entering your name on the sheet on the noticeboard.
Well done to Lynne Daniel who won the medal two Saturday's ago and Liz Hooper who won the medal last Saturday with Rosemary Wallis in second place.
Men's Spring Invitation
Don't forget to enter the Men's Spring Invitation on Friday, 20 May. This is a fantastic way to entertain a guest for the day, playing a shotgun fourball in the morning and a shotgun foursomes in the afternoon with a great lunch and prizes. The entry from is here
The West Hill Pro/Am
Entries are now open for the West Hill Pro /Am, Friday, June 24 2016 . This is your chance to enter as a team of three members, or invite two guests to join you, or enter individually. I will pair you up with one of the top 30 PGA Professional's in the South of England and the course will be at it's absolute best, with the greens running faster than any other day of the year.
A fantastic three course dinner after play is also included, as well as £2,000 worth of amateur prizes. You can choose to play morning or afternoon. The cost is £315 for a team.
