Custom Fitting And Coaching Success 

Well done to Warwick Taylor who won the Weekday Stableford last Monday playing with his new Mizuno MP25 custom fit irons. Look how we improved his swing in just one simple coaching session. In the right picture his hips are driving too much towards the target causing the spine to lean back which creates a push straight to the right or a hook bending to the left. In the left picture, his right foot has left the ground earlier allowing his hips to rotate more freely and his spine has remained more vertical creating a better swing path. This resulted in straighter, better struck shots and a competition win!!!

Ferney Cup

Congratulations to Paul Reeves who shot an amazing nett 66 in the Ferney Cup on Saturday, including a four putt, seven, at the last, and as the winner joins me in the PGA National Pro/Am South Region Qualifier at Walton Heath. Everyone else found it really tough with the CSS going up to 73! Our course manager, Ben, chuckled and said " Maybe the 11th isn't playing that much easier after all following the removal of the gorse as part of the heather regeneration programme!" 

Perhaps everyone needs a little coaching???!!!

Second in Div 2 was Sam Barkham, with nett 71, and third, Martin Thomas with nett 72. Well done to Derek Plumstead who won Div 1, with nett 70, second was Paul Champion, with nett 71, and third Paul Hanley on countback. Mr Hanley has been spotted on a couple of occasions this last week utilising our fantastic new practice range and got instant results.

Custom Fitting Produces Winners

Congrats to Warwick Taylor who won the Weekday Stableford on Monday following a very productive coaching session and playing with his new custom fitted Mizuno MP25 irons! In a very close competition he beat Alex Morrisson and George Fergusson on countback.

" A good win for West Hill last Wednesday beating Traditions 5-0 in the opening round of the John Ling Trophy. The team was Terry Atkinson, Neil Blick, Rob Guilfoyle, Bob James, Tom Keelan, John Mckimmie, Jim Meaney, Rob Pike, Doug Roach and John Watts"

 

Well done to Lynne Daniel who won the weekday medal with a nett 76. Second was Anne Trew, with nett 78, and third Sian Thomas with nett 79.

 

Last week the Captain and Pro had their busiest ever week, with 3 challenge matches. Match 1 - a steak and claret challenge from Barry Goss and Peter Robinson, which we won 3&2, but finished 1 hole up after 18.

Match 2 - a steak and claret challenge from Tim Evans and Rod Curry, which we won 3&1 and finished 4 up after 18.

Match 3 - an early morning challenge from David Duncan and Kaj Abrahamsen, which we won 3&2 and finished 5 up after 18.

   

After 7 matches we have Won 4, Halved 1, Lost 2. Peter Oakes and Jimmy Sweetzer are top of the leaderboard for the 2 day trip to Saunton Sands, with a 3 up win. Our next game is a toughy this Saturday against young guns James Elliot and Josh Atkins.

 

Men's Spring Invitation

Don't forget to enter the Men's Spring Invitation on Friday, 20 May. This is a fantastic way to entertain a guest for the day, playing a shotgun fourball in the morning and a shotgun foursomes in the afternoon with a great lunch and prizes. The entry from is here.

The West Hill Pro/Am 

Entries are now open for the West Hill Pro /Am, Friday, June 24 2016 . This is your chance to enter as a team of three members, or invite two guests to join you, or enter individually. I will pair you up with one of the top 30 PGA Professional's in the South of England and the course will be at it's absolute best, with the greens running faster than any other day of the year. 

A fantastic three course dinner after play is also included, as well as £2,000 worth of amateur prizes. You can choose to play morning or afternoon. The cost is £315 for a team.
