Well done to James Elliot, Andrew Smith, Ramin Showghi and Richard Wheatley who won the Titleist Beat Your Handicap Challenge in the stableford last weekend and win a double up of the Titleist balls they purchased on the day. More pictures of the pro crying as he hands out more free product to the members will follow.

Following a fitting at the Titleist fitting centre in Cambridgeshire Tim wanted to see if there was anything else on the market that gave a more consistency and a little more distance. 

The M2 irons gave a much better shot dispersion as well as an average increase of 10 yard. Tim also had 2 new TaylorMade wedges to finish off the set.

Well done to Richard Bolton who drew Henrik Stenson in The Open Sweepstake and won the £300 first prize. Kevin Parrington drew Phil Mickelson winning £200. As JB Holmes and Steve Stricker were unsold in the draw the third place went to Mike Coulson (Sergio Garcia), Nick Taylor (Rory McIlroy) and George Cassie (Tyrrell Hatton) winning £50 each. I think that is probably the best golf I have ever seen and played in true sportsmanlike spirit - what a fantastic advert for the game. 

Congratulations to Nick Chiverton who won the club stableford with 40 points. Second was James Elliot with 38 points and third Ramin Showghi with 36 points. Division 2 was won by Andrew Smith with 35 points, second was Tim Cleminson with 34 points and third was Mike Sands with 33 points.

Kamran Etebar, Neil Blick and Chris Barber entered as the West Hill team in the Worplesdon Seniors Invitation on Monday 4th July. West Hill won the team prize with 99pts (98 & 93 were 2nd/3rd). A 7 handicapper from Sunningdale won best individual with 40 points and Chris Barber came 2nd on countback with 36pts........ so double success for our West Hill club. Well done chaps.




On Sunday we played the traditional Captain and Pro Challenge against the two immediate past captains. The Captain played brilliantly and we secured a win on the 15th green. 

The best score against us which wins the 2 day trip to Saunton courtesy of the captain is still Peter Oakes and Jimmy Sweetzer with 3 up but we still have 7 or 8 matches to go. 

Our next challenge is on Sat 30 July from Phil Edwards and Ian Bain. 




Congratulations to Ilsa Bellion who won the handicap section of the Club Championship shooting nett 156. As reported last week, here is the picture of the Club Champion, Jan Gilkes, receiving the trophy from the Ladies' Captain.
