Studio news

I think this is a testimonial from Peter!!!!!

"What a pleasure it was to be relieved of several hundred pounds by Guy as he gently allowed me the time to find a perfect set of irons using Flightscope. There was plenty of time taken and no pressure applied and I am the happy owner of my first set of graphite TaylorMade irons. Off to Ladbrokes now to repair the damage! Thanks for your time and effort Guy"

Here is a great story from Ian McKinnon

"My arthritis in 2 fingers in my right hand was causing a lot of pain when gripping the club and as such was effecting my golf and I was not enjoying it. Matt Heather suggested perhaps get some padding around the grip. So 3 weeks ago I went to see Greg and it is the best thing that ever happened. I was never aware that there was a choice of 8 different thickness of grip, and it all has to do with your hand size. Greg measured my hands for length & width and I tried various sizes and the one that fitted best was the Jumbo as this allowed me to have all my fingers of right hand on the grip without putting any pressure on the fingers with the arthritis. I had all my clubs re-gripped with the jumbo size, best decision I made. My golf has improved and no longer suffer painful fingers during my round. I would advise members that it is worthwhile going and having your hands measured to ensure you have the right grip for your hands."

Here is a report from Greg.

Ian came for an iron comparison to see if we could find something better than his old AP2 irons. We started with the range from Mizuno and Titleist which gave more distance and a better flight with a little more spin. Then came the TaylorMade M2 Tour irons, these gave even more distance better shot dispersion but most importantly for Ian better feel. Ladies news

Well done to Kathryn McKimmie who won the weekend medal with a nett 72. Second was Barbara Brooks with nett 74, beating Lynne Daniel on countback.

Captain pro challenge

Last Saturday the Captain and Pro were challenged by Phil Edwards and Ian Bain. They got off to a hot start making 7 pars in the first 8 holes to be 4 up and looking good for the trip to Saunton Sands.

However, the Captain and Pro fought hard and made par at the last.

Did Phil Edwards hole his putt at the last to tie Oakes and Sweetzer at the top of the leaderboard at 3 up? Watch the video and see

Next match tomorrow against Julien Payne and Gavin Cookman

Members1 news

Well done to Kamran Etebar who won the West Hill Seniors Invitation Day playing with the Burhill team with a fantastic score of 89 points.

Here is a match report from Mark Turner

"Following our victory away earlier in the year, we hosted Burhill last Sunday for the home leg. This is an event that many in the Burhill team relish as being their best fixture of the year. The pairings of Paul Champion / James Elliot and Chris Salmon / Martin Burns took advantage of excellent weather and a course that is in amazing condition to give West Hill an early lead.

However Burhill fought back strongly to take a 4-2 lead in to lunch. West Hill narrowly won the afternoon session by three and half to two and a half, thanks to wins from Simon Calder / James Elliot and John Reynolds/ Martin Burns, leaving honours for the overall match with Burhill.

An excellent day and we look forward to playing again in 2017.

If anybody is interested in joining this fixture, please contact Mark Turner (match manager)."
