TaylorMade 'P770' Irons - Review

pp7In P770, TaylorMade worked to deliver a true Tour iron for skilled players while providing playability improvements for higher handicap golfers. P770 features a uniquely forged 1025 carbon steel face/hosel with precision-milled faces and grooves along with 70-gram tungsten back-bar weighting in the mid and long irons (3-7) and a one-piece forged cavity back construction in the short irons (8-AW) for added feel and control (for the guys who love techno talk).

The P770 iron creates faster ball speeds, more consistently than any other iron with MORE forgiveness and a lower centre of gravity. This creates a higher launch angle with improved playability, sound and feel. Altogether, this is a great iron and I've thoroughly enjoyed testing it.

Mizuno JPX 900 Range - Hybrids

In previous weeks I've introduced the new JPX900 range of golf clubs with the release date being Monday, 20 February. Talk about these clubs are hotting up and this year they are going to be a  competitor for Titleist, TaylorMade and Callaway.

The idea behind the JPX900 Hybrid is to make the head sit more like a long iron than the tradition hybrid. The benefits of this include a slightly flatter lie angle, preventing people for 'over-hooking' the ball. The 'shockwave' technology design on the sole of the club also helps to produce faster ball speeds with higher trajectories to help the 'low hitting' players get the ball up in the air and travelling. With the new iron-like characteristics, but fairway-like performance, this club is incredibly easy to hit and would fill anybody with confidence.
