This Friday 20 June we have our club comparison trial evening from 4pm to 8pm . Look at for the news next week of members who are hitting the ball further and better after being tested using our new Flightscope radar ball tracking technology.
The French Open qualifying I played last Monday was a great tournament. The venue, Golf de Stade Francais Courson, was a tremendous test of golf with lots of water, 4 feet deep rough, the fastest greens I have EVER putted on ( running at nearly 13 on the stimpmeter) and it was blowing a stiff 2 club wind. I shot high scores of 77 and 83 to finish 43rd of 78 professionals but actually felt that most of my game was in good shape.
I hit 12 greens in regulation in both rounds but had 36 and 35 putts which is 5 or 6 too many in each round. In round two I hit one bad shot on the treacherous par 5 14th hole which led to a 9.
The pictures below are of the 14th and 18th holes - two tremendous par 5's which ran parallel to each other on either side of a lake and which shared a 100 yard long boomerang shaped green around the end of the lake.

Here is a Captain's Roll Up report from Brian Terry.
'As the Captain was attending Ken Cotterill's funeral Past Captain Rodney Bole (2005/6) hosted the Captain's Roll-up. The three times winner of the Eclectic competition, Mike Phillips, won with 39 points; Simon Legge and David Haigh were separated only after a count back as each had scored 37 points. Whilst this gives Mike 5 points in the annual Ecclectic competition he is trailing the three front runners all of whom have consistently featured on the leader board. Each already has five counting scores so will have to finish in the top three places in the remaining events to improve their totals. Simon Legge has 20 points, Neil Blick has 18 and Kameran Etebar has 16.'
Congratulations to Nick Millar who gets his name on the honours boards with a fantastic net 66 in the Silver Medal. Second on countback was Mark Davies with Mike Graves third in division 1.
In division 2 Gary Clarence won with net 69 with Fergus Mooney second with net 72 and John Scurlock-Davies third on countback.
The ladies Macmillan Spoons stableford was won by Kathryn McKimmie with an amazing 40 pts. Second was Sian Thomas with 35 pts and third Shirley Couzens with 34 pts.
The Junior Presidents Cup was played on Sunday and won by Callum Henderson with an amazing nett 61. Unlucky Max Walmisley was second with net 63 and James Connor third with net 67.
