Grant Leonard Lots of golfers over reach with their arms and then to compensate and to try and stay balanced, they sink their hips back over their heels. This creates a position where it is very hard to coil the body and the swing therefore becomes more arm and shoulder dominated as shown in the picture on the left. In the second picture Grant's arms are hanging freely down and his entire body weight is more centred instead of being in his heels. From here he can turn his upper body against the resistance of his legs in the backswing and use his legs to unwind more powerfully. The result - instantly more consistent ball striking and a nett 64 in the medal the following weekend!!! (See below for Grant's result) |
