The latest technology The West Hill Swing Studio is now fully fitted out with all of the new custom fit systems from Callaway, TaylorMade and Titleist with all the heads and shafts for men, ladies, seniors and left handers. With the Flightscope launch monitor to measure your clubhead speed, launch angles, spin rates and total distance, combined with the biggest selection of shafts we've ever had, you are guaranteed to find the perfect Club for your swing. Or if you would prefer to try some brand new clubs on the course instead, we have ten full sets of Titleist and TaylorMade hire sets from driver to putter, in every flex of shaft, which you can demo FREE of charge on the course. They are also available for visiting guests to hire at £40 a round if they are travelling without clubs.

Darren Noel took one of our Titleist trial sets onto the course so that he could demo all of the irons and promptly holed a perfect 3 iron at the fourth using the Titleist MB iron. He now can't wait for his new set of irons to arrive. Last weekend Nigel Sellars came to see Greg for a driver fitting. After 10 years with the same club, Nigel felt it was time to see what the latest technology could do for his game. We started by collecting the data from his current club, then looked to see how all the new clubs stacked up against it. With an average increase of 10 yards carry and a better more consistent spin rate, we managed to get Nigel up to 20 extra yards in total with the new TaylorMade M4 driver. With the new Twist Face technology, Nigel's shot dispersion was much tighter. If you would like to try any of the latest technology then click here to arrange a session. |

West Hill vs Granville Here is a report from Terry Atkinson: "The annual match against Granville took place this year on April 11th and 12th on the Granville links. In wonderfully calm and sunny conditions the two teams played out this unofficial match in a mini Ryder Cup format. At the end of the four balls and foursomes on the first day, Granville had a narrow lead of one point which they then doubled on the second day of singles. The West Hill team can be confident of overturning this two point margin in the return match next October having recovered from a four point deficit last year. The star performer for West Hill was Donald Leggett who won two of his matches and halved the other. This was only bettered on either team by Albert Jamard who won all three of his matches.
|
The West Hill team was Terry Atkinson, Andrew McNaught, John Todd, Neil Blick, Donald Leggett, Alan Thorniley, Tim Evans, Philip Harrisson, Alastair Somerville and Peter Robinson. This match has its own website which can be accessed here. If you haven't played Granville, you should, especially if you like traditional style links golf. The Granville centenary book is in the Bedser bar if you need more information or speak to any of the guys mentioned above."

Consider a smart new look |
As it seems to do every year, the Masters has ignited the season and prompted many of you to dust off your clubs and take to the course. If this is you and you haven't been in the shop recently, make sure you come and take a look around as we have some fantastic new products sitting on the shelves, including our club crested range of apparel. This Glenmuir Hatfield polo is a great option as it combines a modern look with subtle detail to create a really stylish shirt. It's made from high-performance stretch fabric that is manufactured to work with your swing; a huge benefit of buying golf-specific clothing from us rather than a cheap polo from the high street. |
