Hello and welcome to another edition of our weekly newsletter here at West Hill Golf Club, with Guy still sunning himself on a beach somewhere in Spain (or practising his swing when Helen isn't looking!) I will do my utmost to try and find some news from what has been a week of solitude with course maintenance occurring.
There was a solitary competition to report on which was The Ladies Stableford on Wednesday which was won by Karen Duncan who in her first competition for some time managed 42 points, you obviously have been practising still Karen! Kathryn Mckimmie tied for 2nd with Helen Hall on 37 points, great golfing Ladies!
This weeks improvement of the week award goes to Sylvia Sands for improving her swing path. Sylvia has a textbook set up to the golf ball, one of the best I've seen but of late Sylvia has felt her "timing" has been a bit out and her golf hasn't been up to her usual standard.
Have a watch of the video to see why swing path (direction the club swings on) errors cause timing errors and how Sylvia has improved this factor.
Well done Sylvia
It's 10 days to go till I host the inaugural "Game changer Fridays" on the 1st tee at West Hill and I still have 2 slots to fill at 1630 and 1730 so if anyone is struggling with a particualr club i.e. the driver etc. then why not book in to have it looked at, it's FREE!

Guy also has 2 places still available on Tuesday, 2nd December for his trip to Royal St. George's if anyone is interested in having a fantastic day out at an Open Championship venue.

Well that concludes what has to be the shortest newsletter in history and hopefully next week we will have more to report on but in the meantime enjoy the rest of the week and look forward to catching up with you all soon.
I'm looking to arrange a winter scratch league amongst the members and the professional staff this coming winter to help everyone keep their competitive edge up, I'm still finalising the format but effectively everyone will play everyone over the course of the winter and the top 4 at the end of the season will play a semi-final and a final, I'm open to suggestions for this if anyone has a better idea.
