Tomorrow is Patricks' game changer Friday. Members will be trying new equipment from the first tee and comparing it against their own on the Flightscope radar ball tracking device. This is a fantastic free service we offer to check that all your clubs are working well for you. If you'd like to give it a try any any time click here.
With the summer season winding down we only have two events remaining counting towards the West Hill Order of Merit for the Curzon-Smith Armada Plate. Anthony Wysome is currently leading but anyone one of about twenty members could still win this if they enter both the Presidents Cup and the final event, The Jubilee Medal. (Check out the home page on the West Hill website for the current order of merit).
It is also time to support your Club Captain and Ladies' Captain by entering the Charity Day on Monday 29 September (2pm shotgun). To support them and Parkinson's enter through the office. £50 if you pay through JustGiving online plus £28 taken from your bar card for the evening meal
On Sunday The Captain and I were challenged by Mike Halsall and Mark Batt- Rawden. All square at the turn they hit us with par 4, par 4, birdie 3, par 3, net par 4 and before we knew it we were shaking hands to a 4&3 defeat. They both played very well and Mark only narrowly missed qualifying through his Tappit Hen league when he lost to Paul Prentice up the last. Our next challenge is from Paul Prentice and Peter David on Friday 12 September.
The Captain and I also played in the South of England qualifier for the National PGA Captain/Pro Challenge at The Addington on Tuesday with the winners going through to the grand final in Turkey.
With a 2 hour rain delay and in the constant pouring rain, we shot a very creditable 68 ( 1 under par) to finish 9th out of 60 pairs. Well done David.
Twenty of our ladies section enjoyed a great trip to the The Belfry last week arranged by Ladies' Captain, Gloria Foxhall. They played two rounds with an overnight stay which included a meal in the hotel. I have no idea how true the rumours are that they then hit The Bel Air Night Club and enjoyed vodka shots at the bar?But I'd like an invite next time!!!!
Congratulations to Roslyn Nash who won the weekday Stableford with 35 points last Wednesday. Second was Janet Lea with 33 pts and third Kerry Cooper with 32 pts.
