Last week I managed to win my fourth round match of the South Region PGA Matchplay Championships with an away win at Langley Park GC in Kent, so I am now through to the quarter final stage.



So the Captain's picks for the European Ryder Cup Team are Stephen Gallacher, Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood. They will join Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia, Justin Rose, Graeme McDowell, Martin Kaymer, Thomas Bjorn, Henrik Stenson, Victor Dubuisson and Jamie Donaldson.

Tom Watson has picked Keegan Bradley, Hunter Mahan and Webb Simpson. The remainder of his team is Rickie Fowler, Jim Furyk, Zach Johnson, Matt Kuchar, Phil Mickelson, Patrick Reed, Jordan Spieth, Jimmy Walker and Bubba Watson.

It's only 3 weeks until the drama unfolds.

Well done to Daryl Ware who won the club Stableford on Sunday on countback with 37 points. Second in Division 2 was Martin Waller also scoring 37 pts, with Brian Morris placing 3rd with 36 pts. In Division 1 Craig Kimber won, also with 37 pts with Callum Denham second with 35 pts and Kamran Etebar third on countback.

The mixed Greensomes and supper on Friday was won by Steve and Heather Thwaites with 33 pts. Second were David Defty and Jackie McKeown with 31 pts and third were Malcolm and Janet Lea on countback.

A report from our Ladies' Captain, Gloria Foxhall. 

"The ladies match with the juniors was played on Monday , mostly in the rain. It was won by Laurence Courtney & Jared Robinson with 47 points with Marjory Horsman & Freddie Moss second with 42 points. In spite of the weather the match was enjoyed by all."



Well done Sue Gorvin who won the weekend Stableford with 40 points. Second was Kerry Cooper with 39 pts with Liz Hooper third with 37 points.
