Mixed Away Tour - What a trip! Report from the Ladies' Captain A big thanks to Guy for organising our first mixed away tour in Dorset. We played a ‘Ryder Cup’ style three day event over three courses including Broadstone, Parkstone and the Isle of Purbeck. As you would expect, there was great rivalry between the Pro’s team and the Lady Captain’s team. Day one and two finished all square leaving us all set up for a grand finale at Purbeck…….and would you believe it, we finished all square on the final day!! Three great courses, a great hotel, great restaurants, and of course the weather was fantastic! All 16 couples had a wonderful time and are all looking forward to the rematch next year, who knows which way it will go!

| Tense onlookers behind the 18th green! |
|
As you can see the live scoring system meant that both teams watched tensely behind the 18th green at Parkstone on day 2 as Greg Mackay holed a great par putt to defeat the Ladies Captain by one hole and square the entire match at 8-8 going into the final day. On the final day all the late matches were completed early except for Match 6 which meant all 32 players watched on around the 18th green as David Harrison made a heroic birdie for the Pro's Team to win his match and tie the whole match at 12-12. Captain’s Roll Up - Report from Brian Terry The Captain continued to display outstanding consistency by winning his third Captain's Roll-up competition. He returned an impressive 39 points off his handicap of 7 which gave him a winning margin of 5 points over Ed Shanley in second place with Kamran Etebar third, also on 34 points but lost out on countback to Ed. With the Captain's earlier second place and a third, he has an unassailable lead in the eclectic competition with only one more event to play. The next Roll-up is on 24th October.

To sleeve or not to sleeve |
Being underprepared when you're out on the course is a blunder which we've all been guilty of making. As the cold weather starts rolling in, you need to start thinking about some layering pieces that keep you warm and dry, but also lets you have freedom of movement during your round. Luckily for you, we have just the answer. |
Glenmuir Munro Zip Neck sweater Glenmuir has given you a perfect solution in the form of its Munro Zip Neck sweater. The cashmere-cotton combination makes it a great choice for those of you looking for a soft and warm jumper when you're out on the course. Plus, its lightweight fabric enhances your freedom of movement with minimal restriction, making this the perfect golfing mid-layer. |
|
Glenmuir Thurso Padded gilet
If you prefer the sleeveless approach, why not try this sleeveless gilet? Made from a stretch fabric, it not only helps you swing the club easily despite the extra layer, but also allows for a superior fit. It comes in a choice of three stunning colourways, and is flexible enough for you to wear a pullover underneath on the chilliest of days. |
