More happy Titleist customers! James Trelfa came to try the new Titleist TS drivers, and with the use of the launch monitor in the Swing Studio, we discovered that the TS2 head with the Smoke shaft gave James the best launch angle and spin rate for maximum distance. He was also tempted by the awesome AP3 irons. Adam Salazar tried some new putters with Greg and after testing various models found that this Titleist Scotty Cameron gave him the best alignment, roll and consistency. Even if it's pouring with rain we can do putter fittings indoors on the putting carpet in the Swing Studio. Click the link below if you would like to compare your putter to the latest technology or like to try any of the new technology from Titleist (including TS drivers and fairways), TaylorMade (including GAPR technology) and Callaway. Contact me here to book a fitting. |

Surrey Plate Scratch Final – Report from James Elliot Last week we played the Surrey Plate Scratch Final against Malden GC at Clandon Regis. Despite the terrible conditions, the course held up very well and we decided to go out. The match was very close and came down to a sudden death playoff, which unfortunately we lost on the 3rd extra hole. The team was Jon Holden, Andy Dusek, Gerry Kennedy, Darren Noel & Alex Bailey.
3 W’s Event - Report from John Gilkes The annual 3 W's Ladies and Seniors Mixed Foursomes event was played at Worplesdon on Monday 15th October. West Hill retained the trophy, winning it for the fourth time in the most recent five matches. Sue Gorvin and Nigel Sillick won the individual pair prize with an impressive 35 points and the overall team scores were West Hill 181 points, Worplesdon 168 points and Woking 134 points. The West Hill team 'packed well' with an average pair score of over 30 points which was a very good effort in damp conditions. Next year West Hill will be the hosts.
West Hill V Granville - Report from Terry Atkinson The 2018 West Hill vs Granville return match took place on October 10th and 11th in glorious weather. It resulted in a resounding win for the home side by 15.5 to 1.5 and overall victory over the home and away matches. So West Hill retain the Terry Cup and look forward to defending it next year when the away leg will be played on April 24th and 25th. Contact Terry Atkinson if you wish to be considered to play in the match. Granville is a superb championship links golf course, see the course centenary book in the Bedser bar. |

Ferney Cup – Report from Kevin Barkham On Saturday 6th October 2018, Nick Chiverton(6) and Kevin Barkham(5) played the 36 hole final of the Ferney Cup, on a very wet, cold and windy day. In a rollercoaster encounter, Nick was 2up after 6, before Kevin got back to A/S by the 9th. Nick then went 1up at the 12th as the heavens opened and did not stop for the rest of the day. Then Kevin played 1 under from the 13th to the 17th to go 3up before Nick won the 18th, to go into lunch just 2 down. The lunchtime discussion was what would happen if the game had to be stopped due to the course flooding, however apart from a few puddles on the 1st, 7th and 9th, the course held up very well and there was never any danger of the game being suspended. Nick obviously had a good lunch and won 4, 5, 6 and 7 (with a birdie) in the afternoon to go from 2 down to 2up. Kevin then recovered back to A/S by the 13th, only for Nick to win 14 and 15 and get back to 2up. The 16th was halved before Nick won 17 with a par, to win 3&1 and both players retreated back to the clubhouse to dry off and get warm.

When you step onto the tee with a driver in hand, there are two thoughts in most golfers' minds: "Hit it far, and hit it straight". Both of these were easier said than done, until Titleist released its new TS2 and TS3 drivers earlier this year... |
Both of these drivers are designed to bring more speed to your game, which results in greater distance. It's as simple as that. The Titleist TS2 is all about forgiveness. In fact, it has the highest MOI that Titleist has ever produced, which means it's more resistant to twisting at impact, for longer and straighter shots. However, if you have a consistent miss with your drives, the TS3 will be perfect for you as we can set it up to counter your destructive shot. With two models to choose from, it's more important than ever to come and see us for a custom fitting. What numbers will you be putting up on the Titleist board? |
