Captain’s Roll-up - Report from Brian Terry As the Captain had already won the eclectic competition before the last event in his year of Captaincy, the final competition took a different form than usual. Competitors played in teams of three with their best two scores on each hole counting. The outcome proved to be very competitive with the trio of David Alvis, Rod Curry and David Harrison scoring 88 points to lead the field from John Todd, Mike Phillips and Kamran Etebar who scored 85 points. The Captain presented each of the three winners with a bottle of red and one of white wine for their achievement. The Captain's 21 eclectic points after recording three firsts, a second and a third place made him the first Captain to win the competition in his year of office. This displayed a high level of consistency throughout the year and he will be a worthy representative to play in next year's Old Aldenhamians. This year's Roll-ups involved 65 different members playing on one or more occasions and the average winning score was 38.1!
