After the Christmas Lunch I will also be doing the Professional's Xmas Draw and with £2,500 worth of prizes, this weekend will be your last chance to buy some numbers.
Family Christmas Lunch Last Sunday saw huge excitement as 100 members attending the Family Christmas Lunch spotted Father Christmas and his little helper arriving up the 18th on their special Rudolph Buggydeer. All the children received a present from Father Christmas and they were then treated to an entertainer whilst the Mums, Dads and Grandparents looked after the wine at their tables!

Xmas Shotgun Stableford On Saturday morning 100 members competed in the Xmas Shotgun Stableford. Congratulations to David Harrison who was the winner with 37 points. Second was Ben Turner with 36 points pipping Stephen Lewis on countback. Indeed, the scoring was so tight that 13th place for the second last price was won on 35 points. The winner of the Malibu for last place went to Nick Millar who unfortunately could not stay as his father had been taken seriously ill in hospital that morning. Our thoughts are with you Nick.

Captain and Pro match We played our fourth Captain/Pro on Sunday against Jonathan Hewett and Greg Gould. They played very solidly and went 4 up through 16 but the Captain and Pro battled on with a par, par finish to lose 3 down meaning the leaders of "The Race to Portugal" are still John Wright and Jack Watson after 4 matches. Watch this space for more dates coming soon.

The Eastern Algarve Tournament A huge congratulations to Shirley Couzens and Lynne Daniel who played in The Eastern Algarve Tournament last week and finished 1st and 2nd respectively. It was played over 5 rounds of golf on different courses. Shirley got 42 points on Monte Rei, one of the toughest and best courses in the Algarve! Here is what Shirley had to say: "You inspired me Guy! One lesson with you and how my golf has changed, thank you so much! Let's hope I can take it to the Pearson Match at Richmond tomorrow, many thanks."

We all want to enjoy playing golf, and a big part of this is lowering our handicap. Yes, there will be times when your game isn't up to scratch and you go up .1 a few times in a row, but there'll also be times when all of the puzzle pieces fit and your handicap tumbles. |
What does your graph look like? As the year comes to an end, it's important to take stock and examine where you can improve your game going into the new year. There might be several areas that you want/need to work on, or maybe just two or three finer details that will take your game to the next level. |
Whatever those areas are, we're here to help. We can identify the key reasons you're not shooting the scores you want, as well as devise a personalised winter coaching plan to help iron out those faults and get you paying your best golf. So, if you want to see your handicap tumble in 2019, come down to the shop for a chat - you've got nothing to lose and everything to gain. |
