This is the time of year when we start to see some exciting new product launches coming into the shop. Last week I told you about the fantastic new TaylorMade P790 iron which we now have in the Swing Studio.

We also now have the brand new Epic Flash hybrid for you to try. If you would like to try them on the course or to book a FREE comparison with them in The Swing Studio using our Flightscope launch monitor technology then contact us below.

Titleist Ball Fitting Event – Sunday 8am 12pm!

Make sure you book your 15 minute appointment with the Titleist ball fitting expert this Sunday to check whether you are using the perfect ball for your game.

Either have a chat with him before you go out for your club Stableford round or come up especially to see him and maybe use our fantastic practice range facilities whilst you are here.

West Hill in full bloom…

The course is looking in fantastic shape after all the hard work by Ben and his team over the last two weeks. The area to the left of the 15th green and in front of the 16th tee looks amazing and the greens have come back very quickly with the help of plenty of showers and some warm sun.

The heather seems more beautiful than ever this year in its purple bloom and the Pro Shop team are looking forward to seeing you all back at the club after a very quiet couple of weeks.

Ladies news…

Well done to Lynne Daniel and Helen Atkinson who won the pairs betterball last weekend with 44 points. On a very high scoring day, Shirley Couzens and Helen Simmons were second with 43 points - unlucky ladies!

Congratulations to Sylvia Sands who won the Weekday Stableford with 37 points. Second was Jan Gilkes with 36 points and third was Tina Thomas with 35 points.

The most beautiful shot in golf

If we were to ask you this question what would you say? We think some of you would say the ‘Tiger stinger’ but a good proportion would say the pitch shot that takes a couple of bounces before stopping to a halt. It looks sensational but how on earth do you play it?

The key to making this shot is simple – your wedges. Yes, technique is key and is certainly something we can talk you through during a lesson but without the correct equipment you stand no chance.

Try TaylorMade Milled Grind 2 wedges

If the grooves on your wedges are worn or dirty, it's time to either clean or replace them.

New in-store is the TaylorMade Milled Grind 2 wedge, which has a ZTP RAW groove design.

Essentially, it provides sharper, deeper and narrower grooves than the previous model and, coupled with the raw face design, allows for more precision and spin around the greens.
