Weekday Stableford Well done to Ian Trevers who won the Weekday Stableford with an amazing 44 points and was cut 3 shots to 16 handicap. Second in Division 2 was Greg Gould with 41 points and third was Julien Payne with 38 points. The best score of the year not to qualify for the Old Aldenhamians Salver must go to Chris Smith who won Division 1 with a mere 43 points! Second was Nigel O’Hagan with 36 points and third was Gavin Cookman with 35 points. Congratulations to Chris who is now a single figure handicapper!
Ladies news Well done to Jan Gilkes who won the Weekend Medal with a brilliant nett 68 and was cut to single figures. Second was Kay Bowman with nett 71 and third was Tina Thomas with nett 78. On Wednesday, Helen Atkinson & Tina Thomas won the Daily Mail Foursomes with 33 points. Second on countback were Tracey Peryman & Karen Duncan with 31 points.
Junior news Report from our Junior Organiser - Alistair Wooster I am pleased to report that our team were successful at Woking in the annual 3W’s match for the Bedser Bowl. West Hill were resounding winners with the scores as follows: - West Hill = 138.5
- Woking = 101.5
- Worplesdon = 84
With the six matches played in three balls against both opponents concurrently, West Hill beat both clubs in 5 out of 6 matches and very nearly did the same in the last coming a close second. The trophy was presented to our Junior Captain, Freddy Wooster, by Phil Payne (Junior Organiser at Woking GC.)
