Mixed Tour to Nottingham
Next week is a busy week as I am taking 32 members on the Mixed Tour to Nottingham for The Ladies’ Captain’s Team v The Professional’s Team. We are playing Sherwood Forest, Coxmoor and Lindrick with 8 fourball betterball matches each day and using live match scoring with The Golf Gamebook for the “Ryder Cup” style scoring. With last year’s match in Bournemouth tied at 12-12, it’s all to play for. Look out for pictures next week. Greg is also taking 19 members to Sunningdale for our annual day trip there this Tuesday. We have had one last-minute drop out so if you would like to join them for an amazing day out click here.

Good luck Tom
Next week is Tom’s last week with us as, after working most Sundays this year. Tom has decided to make a go of playing golf full time to see how low he can get his handicap. Please pop into the shop to wish him good luck and we thank him for the service he has given us this year.

Not long left to have your say Sorry if you're reading this having already completed our Customer Survey - which we know many of you have - but we'd love it if we could get a few more people to fill it out. It involves answering a series of multiple-choice questions about your golf equipment, both what you currently use and what you'd be interested in using in the future. So, if you'd like to help us improve the service we offer you in-store, please click here to take the survey. |

Captains’ Charity Day
On Monday, Greg and Liz hosted the Captains’ Charity Day with proceeds going to their chosen charities of The Woking & Sam Beare Hospices and Riding for The Disabled.
With a full field, everyone had a fantastic day and the meal served by our new Head Chef, Tony, was amazing. With live and silent auctions and a raffle as well as the entry fees over £12,000 was raised for the charities on the day. Congratulations to everyone involved. Well done to Tina and Kevin Thomas, Sally Courtney and Mark Turner who won the team event with a tremendous score in the rain of 87 points.

Captain/Pro Challenge
On Friday, we played our 25th Captain/Pro Challenge in the 'Race to Portugal' against Paul Hanley and Daryl Ware.
In an amazing match, our challengers went out in nett 29 playing betterball to be 3up. The Captain and Pro then played the next eight holes in six under par to be 1up on the last tee. We made 4 to be back in 29 but it wasn’t enough as Daryl chipped in from over the back of the green for a birdie 3, nett eagle 2 to halve the match. Well played Daryl and Paul.
This Sunday we play Peter Yearsley & David Jones.

In a special lunchtime presentation, the Seniors Stableford which follows the Final was named The Ron Simpson Cup in honour of Ron who has run the Seniors Section tirelessly for more years than anyone can remember. Ron recently turned 80 and has been a member of West Hill for 39 years.
Here he is presenting the new trophy to Ron Simpson Cup winner Andrew Smith who scored an amazing 44 points and was cut from 17 to 14! Second was Simon Legge with 39 points and third George Fergusson with 37 points. George, don’t get cut just before your Captain’s year starts.

Without further ado, let us introduce TaylorMade’s scintillating Milled Grind 2 wedge and look at why it's such a good option to be putting in the scoring part of your bag. |
| TaylorMade Milled Grind 2 wedges |
|
Now this wedge is quite unique. It's all to do with Raw Face Technology, which increases spin and feel compared with the original Milled Grind. Not only that but whilst the face rusts over time, the rest of the head will maintain its sleek finish. |
They look stunning, they perform superbly and there are plenty of options available from a loft, grind and finish perspective. All that's left to do now is to come and try them out yourself the next time you're down the club. |
