On Friday, I took a group of members to Reigate Heath to visit Cliff at his new job. After a morning of torrential rain we were blessed with an afternoon of sunshine at his beautiful course.

As well as those pictured above we were also joined by Tim Osborn, Ben Fraser, Terry Milson and Derek Plumstead. The winner over the 9 holes with 19 points playing off plus 2 was our new head assistant Greg Middleton. Second with 17 points was Tim Osborn with Terry Milson third on countback.

Our first scratch roll up last Saturday was played in beautiful sunshine after the fog cleared. It was good to see Alistair Wooster back at the club who has recently returned from a 3 year business stint in Dubai. Max was the winner with gross 72, with James second and Callum third. They all win points towards the Scratch Winter Series Order of Merit. Don't worry if you missed this one, your best 3 from 5 results will count towards the OOM. The next one is on Sunday 7th December meet in the shop at 11.30am sharp to start at the 10th at 11.50am.

On Sunday I played with Tim Cleminson, Peter Lee and James Thomlinson. Tim and Peter were too strong for James and I, although I won't put it down to the putting and swing lessons they have had in the last year!!!

Here is a message from James: "I joined the club in November 2013 and have loved every minute since, despite for one reason or another not being able to get as many rounds in as I wanted. I'm 30 and work in the finance industry in the West End. I make my Saturday or Sunday pilgrimages to the club from Clapham which can take anything from 35 to 135 minutes depending on the time of day. I'd love to hear from anyone looking for a game on a weekend day and look forward to meeting more members over the coming years. I'm currently an inconsistent 6 handicap but hope to become steadier and eventually come down following a winter of dedicated practice and lessons!"

Well done to Sian Thomas who continued her run of form winning the Bisque Stableford last Wednesday with 38 points. Second was Kathryn McKimmie with 35 points and third Anna Abrahamsen with 31 points.
