Keeping it simple

The key to simple improvement is to keep the correct fundamentals in place. This is simple but it doesn’t mean it’s easy because it is so hard to check yourself. So many golfers comment on each other’s swings and they start to tinker with swing thoughts when all they actually need is a simple improvement to their set up.

Look how one easy change to Heather Thwaites swing set up has made a dramatic difference. Instead of having the weight sat in her heels with limited space for her hands and arms (left picture), she is now in an athletic position with the balance through the balls of her feet (right picture) enabling her to freely make a much more powerful action with freedom to coil up the upper body in the backswing and unwind from the legs.
