Is your golf equipment ready for winter?
With a real drop in the temperature and the wet weather we have had over the last week it can make a good solid grip of the club difficult to achieve. Using the GRIP BAR we can make sure you have the correct size grip on your clubs. With every set of re-grips (9 clubs or more) get your shoes re-spiked for HALF PRICE.
The Three W's Pro-AM & Surrey Professional Golfers' Association Annual Awards Dinner.
Monday 23rd Februay 2015.
In my role as Chairman of the Surrey PGA, I would be very grateful if you could support this event. Last year's dinner was a fantastic event and this year you have a choice of playing either West Hill, Worplesdon or Woking with a top Surrey PGA Professional in a 12:00 shotgun start. This will be followed by dinner at Epsom Downs Racecourse. There will be an excellent after-dinner speaker and I will organise a bus to & from Epsom. The cost is £100 per amateur or £300 for a team of three. If you are unable to make the golf you are welcome to join us for the dinner for £65. If you would like to support this event click here to add your name indicating if you are able to play in the Pro-am or just attending the dinner.
LAST CHANCE TO PLAY AT ROYAL ST GEORGES
Guy is looking for one more player for Tuesday 2nd December to make up the last 4ball. If you can make it please click here or call the shop ASAP.
As you know, I try to play golf with as many different members as possible through the year. If you haven't played golf with me for a while (or ever) and can join me on Friday 12th December please click here.
An invitation from Guy to join him on Thursday to play with two new lady members was gladly, but with some trepidation, accepted and I arrived at West Hill in good time. The best laid plans go astray as the saying goes and it transpired that both ladies had become unavailable to play at the last minute. No problem explained Guy, Gina has kindly agreed to step into the breach so we will be a 3 ball.
With Guy taking us on as a better ball we teed off in bright sunshine on what was perhaps the last perfect day we will see this year. Guy was in good form and we struggled to keep up with him but with Gina making some clutch putts and my chip in at the 9th we managed to hold on to his shirt tails and turned only 1 down at halfway. The back 9 was tight until a rare mistake by Guy on the 16th allowed us to draw level. A par with a shot down 17 put us ahead for the first time and with Guys birdie putt on 18 grazing the hole we claimed a narrow victory. It was a most enjoyable game and I hope in the future, with more time on my hands, I will make more regular use of our splendid course and club.
Please contact Mike for a game.
Message from Ben
Last Friday we had a machine in that is designed to break through the clay bowl in our greens.
The probe goes down around 2.5 ft and then blasts air at 90psi to fracture the soil profile and hopefully move water through the top of the greens. I'm testing it on our wettest greens and hopefully it will improve them going in to the winter.
