The Swing Studio saw plenty of action this week as, following Ed Shanleys' great write up about his iron fitting last week, West Hill member Tim Kenefick also booked an iron fitting session to try the new TaylorMade RSi irons and hit the RSi 1 irons fantastically. ( Picture of his new custom fit irons to follow next week!) Then Ed came back to try the new R15 3 wood and hit it much more consistently than his old Sonartec 3 wood.
The ladies came to test out the new Swing Studio technology on Saturday and I was joined by Marjory Horsman, Kathryn McKimmie, Anne Trew, Ruth Mackay, Val Owen, Hilary Ashton, Kay Bowman, Sue Gorvin, Julie Wilding, Diana Marchant, Elaine Watts, Rosemary Wallis, Sonja O'Sullivan and Sylvia Sands.
We had a lot of fun and the winner of the nearest the pin competition on the Flightscope Simulator was Sonja O'Sullivan finishing 23 feet from the pin. She wins a Club Gapping Session in the Swing Studio worth £30 where we hit shots with every club in the bag and use the Flightscope to work out exactly how far she hits each club. We then record this on a special bag tag to put on her bag.

The Professional's Scratch Roll Up last weekend was a very tight affair.
1st place both tied on 31 points were Rowan Gillespie and James Elliot.
John Watts, John Holden and Alistair Wooster all had 30 points although John Watts had 3 birdies in 9 holes to pick up 11 skins. Alistair Wooster and James Elliot had 3 skins each.
The order of merit is as follows:
James Elliot 4.5, Guy Shoesmith 3.5, Max O'Hagan 3, Rowan Gillespie 2.5, Jonathan Holden 2.33
With 3 points for a win and two events still to go any member could still win the order of merit and scoop the winning prize if they win. The next roll up is on Saturday 14 March.
Last Sunday the Captain and Pro were challenged by David Jones and Nick Clarke. Unfortunately David and Nick came up against the Captain in top form as we made four gross birdies and shot 2 under par 33 on the back nine for an unstoppable victory of 8 up.
(Including the Captain holing a 70 footer at the 18th for birdie!)
Are you ready to make a challenge?
