As I write West Hill is halfway through hosting The English Senior Open Amateur Championship in conjunction with Worplesdon GC. All the competitors have been singing the praises of the quality and condition of our golf course and huge congratulations should be given to our course manager, Ben Edwards, and his fantastic green keeping team for the huge workload they have undertaken over the last 6 to 8 months to bring the course back to fantastic shape in addition to installing new primary drainage in the greens, reshaping and draining many bunkers, building a new tee and bunker on the 14th and finishing our fantastic new driving range - a colossal effort!
Please take the time to congratulate them all for their amazing effort whenever you see them on the course. All of the competitors have also been amazed at the quality of our fantastic new practice range - remember every member is entitled to a free bucket of range balls to try it out so pop into the shop this weekend and give it a go - I guarantee you'll love it!!!
Custom Fitting News
David Duncan had his swing DNA'd with the new Mizuno fitting system and found the perfect shaft for his swing. He loves his new set of JPX 850 Forged Irons and had a hole in one at the 11th at Liphook in only his second or third outing with them.
Pictured here is David Duncan with his new Mizuno Irons which he loves and again just after his hole in one at Liphook achieved with his new Mizuno 7 iron.
Would you like to have your swing DNA'd?

The Captain and I represented West Hill in the Camberley Heath Captain/Pro Open last Thursday. This event has been running since 1963 and I have been competing in it with club captains for the last 17 years.
I am delighted to tell you that West Hill were the winners as playing Foursomes Medal we shot a five over par gross score of 76 for a net 68.5 to win by half a shot!!!!!
Congratulations Andrew on a fantastic performance.
I look forward to seeing many members competing on Captain's Day this Sunday.
Remember we have the Beat The Pro Challenge in the MORNING ONLY with Greg on the 13th and me on the 4th if you would like to challenge us.
REMEMBER IT IS A NO LOSE GAMBLE. YOUR TEE SHOT HAS TO FINISH ON THE GREEN AND CLOSER THAN OUR TEE SHOT TO WIN AND DOUBLE YOUR SHOP VOUCHER, BUT IF YOU LOSE THE VALUE OF YOUR STAKE STILL GETS CREDITED TO YOUR ACCOUNT. (This bet is only available to members with a zero or credit balance as we are no longer running debit balances).
Congratulations to Mark Turner and his guest John Waymire from Burhill who won the Men's Invitation with 73 points on Friday bearing Nick Cobb and his guest Chris Taylor from Templey and also Martin Thomas and his guest Simon Gibbs from Hadley Wood on countback. The winners of the am round were David Duncan (with his new irons!!) and his guest Michael Fleming from Wentworth. The PM winners were John McKimmie and his guest Neil Palmer from Walton Heath.
The West Hill Seniors also had a great week as our team of Chris Barber, Stuart Bosley and Kamran Etebar won The Hindhead Seniors Invitation by scoring 78 points (best 2 out of 3) which was 7 points ahead of the runners-up!!! Congratulations gentlemen.
Congratulations to Nick Cobb and Gerry Kennedy who won the Tommy Martin Foursomes Qualifier with 35 points. In a very tight leaderboard Chris Harnett and David J Mills were beaten into second on countback with Bob James and Tim Osborn third and also on the same score. With the top 16 pairs qualifying for the match play stages the unluckiest pair of the week are Bill Colvin and Craig Kimber who were the only pair with 30 points not to qualify, finishing 17th on countback.
