With Autumn in the air, this is the perfect time to start reviewing your golfing season and asking yourself how you can continue to grow your game. Members who tried the new West Hill practice facility last weekend came back to the shop raving about how good the facility is. Here is what Mark Jenkins had to say.
"Just wanted to pass on my appreciation of the new driving range facility. I've had a couple of knee operations this year so I've been up to the range a few times to hit balls as part of my rehabilitation. Less than 5 minute's walk from the clubhouse we have a facility we can be proud of. I particularly enjoy the grass when it's in use but the bays are also very good. I intend to keep using the range and hopefully my game will see the benefits!"

Here is a report on the August Captain's Roll Up from Brian Terry.
'The August Captain's Roll-up was played in atrocious, wet and windy conditions but Simon Legge emerged the winner to keep his hopes of winning the eclectic competition alive. However, he was chased home by Chris Barber who, therefore, continues to lead the table meaning that they will both have everything to play for in the final competition on 21 st October. Regulars will know that the September competition has had to be cancelled due to a Club match taking place on the usual day and there not being a suitable alternative date for the Roll-up.'
Congratulations to Chris Barber who won the Hugh Murphy Rose Bowl with 41 points and whose handicap was reduced from 11 to 9.6. Second was Andy Elliott with 35 points with Terry Atkinson third on countback.
Well done to Hilary Ashton who won the ladies weekend stableford with 38 points, pipping Kathryn McKimmie on countback with Lynne Daniels in third place with 35 points.
