The West Hill Swing Studio
If anyone would like to have some coaching in the evenings after work through Autumn/Winter I will be coaching in the Swing Studio until late every Wednesday evening. We can use the indoor simulator and turn the heating on so you'll be nice and warm whilst we are improving your game. Click here if you would like to book some Wednesday evening coaching.
The West Hill Practice Range
Was packed on Sunday morning before the Presidents Cup with members enjoying the fantastic facilities to warm up their bodies and swings. It is such an enjoyable experience that I'm sure many members will start to get to the club 40 minutes before their booked game so that they can enjoy hitting a small bucket of balls off fantastic turf before they play.
Here is what Greg Mackay had to say about it:
""We now have one of the best driving ranges in Surrey. Guy has a wonderful swing studio with all the latest equipment. Being able to hit balls the off grass rather than mats makes such a difference. If you by any chance know of any juniors who would like to have a go at golf, bring them down to the range to have a go. It's a great place to start."
Plus with daylight hours reducing the internal lights in the practice range bays are working which means you are able to practice until dusk if you fancy hitting some balls after work. (When you switch the light on inside the entrance the lights will automatically switch off on a timer after 20 minutes).
Ashley's 10 Yard Challenge
Mizuno have always produced elitist products to suit all golfers with ranging abilities. Two years ago, I decided to get custom fitted for a new Iron set as I felt that to improve my game under pressure and gain some extra yardage. The Mizuno MP 64's! Using Mizuno's DNA shaft optimiser, it takes 3 recorded shots to narrow down a worldwide selection of shafts to the top 3 most suited to you! The DNA shaft optimiser measures swing speed, tempo, shaft toe down, shaft kick angle and club release in order to build up your own unique swing blueprint. Meet the new Mizuno MP5 and MP25 Irons.
After testing both models it's clear to see the improvements made since purchasing my MP64's. 8 Yards of extra ball carry helping my winter game even more! These irons have unrivalled creativity and forgiveness becoming possible through the inclusion of a new Boron material, included within its latest models. The new Boron compound mixed with a brand new 'Channelback' design almost guarantees at least 10 extra yards to your current models, aided by fitting the perfect shaft for you. Don't take my word for it, let Greg prove it to you with a custom fitting session today!
Extra News: As a new member of West Hill's Professional Staff, I'd like to ask whether any members would like to join me for a round of golf on any of the following dates:
Tuesday 13th October
Saturday 17th October
Saturday 24th October
Don't take my word for it - let Greg prove it to you and click here to book a custom fitting session and discover your Swing DNA today!
Or if there are any other dates where you are looking for a fourth player please let me know and I can try to reschedule my work.
I have organised another members away day to Royal St. George's GC, Sandwich on Tuesday 1 December. The format will be fourballs with prizes for individual and better ball scores followed by their amazing 3 course lunch. Cost will be £110 each. Click here if you would like to join us on the day. The Presidents Cup Black Tie Dinner was a great success with wonderful food prepared by Brenden and his team. The auction also seemed to go very smoothly and I think I managed to sell the 38 pairs competing in record time. Favourites were Greg Mackay and Rowan Gillespie although they fell last Sunday. The quarter finalists are shown here.
Well done to Terry Atkinson who won the weekday medal on Friday with net 69. Second was Anthony Wysome with net 71 and third Jamie Potter with net 72.
Well done to Laura Murphy who won the weekend medal with net 75. Second was Bushy Showghi with net 77 and third Julie Wilding with net 79.
