Congratulations to Mark Spink and Ian Bain who defeated Rob Gumbrell and Martin Nichols in the final of the President’s Cup on Sunday afternoon. Well done also to losing semi-finalists Neil Blick & Gerry Kennedy and Craig Kimber & Paul Prentice on great runs in the tournament.
When I messaged Ian to congratulate him on the win he very kindly replied with the following:
“Well, I genuinely feel that you and your team were part of the win! I had two lessons with you in the last 3 weeks. One on long game that got me swinging through the ball nicely and one on bunker play and Spinky put me in 2 bunkers and we up and downed them both!
The guys in the shop regripped my old favourite putter that performed brilliantly and also put my 2 wood shaft into my driver head and again that was great.
So, overall, a huge team effort!”
This puts a big smile on our face as we love to hear that we have helped members to play better golf. All Ian needs now is the number of our physio to complete the team although with his Pilates regime I’m not sure he’d need it!
